The M.I.P.: a museum unique in the world
After 4 years of renovation and extension, the new Musée International de la Parfumerie reopened its doors on 18th October 2008. Established in 1989, this museum, unique in the world, is perfectly at home in the region of Grasse, the birthplace of luxury perfumery.
Dedicated to one of the most prestigious traditional French industries, the museum also aims at preserving and promoting the world heritage of scents, aromas and fragrances.
A place of living memories, the Musée International de la Parfumerie covers the history of perfume making in all its aspects: raw materials, manufacturing, industry, innovation, trade, design, marketing and usages through a wide variety of forms: art objects, decorative arts, textiles, archaeological exhibits, unique or industrial creations.
